Our family has farmed this land west of Arlington since 1886. For five generations, everything we have built comes down to stewardship, hard work, and passing the reins to the next generation.
When my dad brought in his last harvest, it marked the end of an era for him behind the wheel. Like every farmer who has dedicated a lifetime to the soil, his deepest hope is simple: that the farm stays in the family, and that the next generation has the opportunity to succeed.
Farming shouldn't just be about scraping by from season to season. Hardworking farm families deserve to be successful.
Today, that promise is under immense strain. Inflation has sent the price of diesel, seed, fertilizer, and equipment through the roof. At the same time, corporate Big Ag monopolies squeeze independent producers from both ends, while out-of-state investment funds bid up prime farmland beyond the reach of local families.
When family farms are pushed off the land, our small towns feel the blow immediately. Independent farmers buy their supplies locally, support Main Street businesses, fill our rural classrooms, and volunteer on local fire departments. Strong family farms mean strong rural communities.
The Democratic-Farmer-Labor party was built to ensure working people and farmers had a voice against corporate power. That is why I am running for the Minnesota House of Representatives: to put the Farmer back in DFL, defend our family farm legacy, and fight for the resources our small towns deserve.
With Election Day on Tuesday, November 3, and early voting already open across Minnesota, the choice is before us. We can elect leaders who understand these realities firsthand and will stand up for our rural communities in St. Paul.
Please make a plan to vote early or cast your ballot on November 3.
