Early Voting Underway
Vote early in person at your county auditor's office or request an absentee ballot delivered right to your mailbox. No reason or excuse required.
Direct Balloting Begins
Starting 18 days before Election Day, you can insert your ballot directly into the scanner tabulator when voting early in person at your county office.
General Election Day
Polls are open 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. If you are in line by 8:00 PM, you have the legal right to cast your ballot. Same-day registration is available.

Vote on Election Day
Vote at your designated local precinct on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. All polling places across District 17B are open from 7:00 AM until 8:00 PM.

Right to Paid Time Off to Vote
Under Minnesota Statute § 204C.04, every employee has the legal right to take time off work to vote on Election Day or during the early voting window without penalty or loss of wages.
No ID Required If You Are Already Registered
If you are already registered to vote at your current address in Minnesota, you do not need to show an ID when you vote in person. You only need to sign your name.
Same-Day Registration at the Polls
If you moved recently or haven't registered yet, you can register directly at your polling place or early voting office using an approved photo ID with current address, a utility bill + photo ID, or an eligible registered neighbor who can vouch for you.
Curbside & Accessible Voting Options
If you cannot easily enter the polling location, two election judges from different political parties will bring a ballot directly to your vehicle. Accessible ballot-marking devices are also available at all locations.

District 17B covers all of Sibley County (Arlington, Gaylord, Winthrop, Gibbon, Green Isle, Henderson, New Auburn) and surrounding communities across the area. You can confirm your exact voting district and precinct by entering your address on the MN Secretary of State Pollfinder.
What will appear on my ballot?
Along with Minnesota House District 17B (where Ben Wieman is the DFL-endorsed candidate), your ballot includes federal, state judicial, and local county/school board races. You can review your exact sample ballot in advance at My Ballot MN.
What if I requested a mail ballot but want to vote in person instead?
As long as your mail-in ballot has not been submitted and received by the election office, you can still vote in person on Election Day or during early voting. Your in-person vote will be counted, and the unreturned mail ballot will be automatically voided.
What if I am still waiting in line when the polls close at 8:00 PM?
Stay in line! Under Minnesota law, every voter who is in line by 8:00 PM has the legal right to cast their ballot. Do not leave the line.
